I'm fine. Totally fine!
In which Ameya has a mini rant and we give you teeeeeny hint about season 3
Best beloveds!
How have you been? Sometimes I feel like this is very one way, and it would be AWESOME if y’all wrote back to us. Then I remember that’s what Instagram is for amirite?
Y’all might have noticed things have really slowed down here at fatso HQ. It’s true, life has been stressful and we’re both a little burned out. We figure it’s better to slow down now and save all our energies for season 3! (And that book we’re writing ahem…)
Now season 3 is going to be where we start talking to other people about their experiences more. Do you know someone who we would all be better for having listened to? Let us know! Also, found an interesting read on fatness? Hit us up!
Okay, now that stuff is out of the way, today I want to talk to you about something that’s been annoying me a lot. Have you ever noticed how, when you work really hard on yourself, and you break out of conditioning and learn to appreciate and listen to your body and you mostly unlearn emotional eating and you find a way to move that you like and you have started to heal from the lifelong trauma of fat phobia, that the “people who love you” will be all, fine your thing but I think this is a huge mistake. And when you call them out on it, they swear they’re FINE TOTALLY FINE? It annoys me so much, I made a reel :D
The most exciting thing that happened this week was Pallavi’s and my TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY! OMG! So exciting! I can’t believe it’s only been two years since I met this woman who transformed me and my life! I am one lucky person! Soon enough it’ll be the second anniversary of our podcast dinner, and then the second anniversary of the first episode! EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
We came up with some tips about how to have difficult conversations about fat phobia with family and friends, and how to deal with resistance. Annnd that’s it!
More next week!
love,
Ameya (& Pallavi)
Rant on! Congratulations on your anniversary. Thank you for your wonderful work! ❤️
Congrats on the two year anniversaries! Lots of folks like me benefit from your transformational friendship.❤
